Baxter Collaborates with Cosmed to Commercialize Q-NRG+ Indirect Calorimetry Device to Support Global Clinical Nutrition

  • Baxter will commercialize Q-NRG+ in 18 countries around the globe with its expected availability in Sept’19 as a part of its launch in selected EU countries- Canada and Australia with the potential for further expansion in other markets
  • Baxter’s Q-NRG+ utilized indirect calorimetry (IC) technology to measure patient’s calorie need at rest (resting energy expenditure- REE) to optimize nutrition therapy improving the patients’ outcomes
  • Q-NRG+ is a flexible & portable device which requires minimal warm-up and calibration time and can accurately measure patient’s REE and helps physician/clinicians to regularly re-assess energy needs and adjust clinical nutrition prescriptions as required
